This time of year is all about being able to survive and advance.
That’s just what the Mid-Prairie boys golf team did on Friday with a third place finish at Stone Creek Golf Club in Williamsburg. The top two teams in a sectional advance through to districts, unless one of those top teams are playing their home course, which is what benefited the Hawks. Williamsburg on their home course won the meet with a 317. Prairie City Monroe was second with a 327, but the Raiders finish opened the door for the Golden Hawks who stepped right through in third with a team score of 357. On the day Mid-Prairie was led by Ryan Smit who went 44-44 for an 88. Noah Schlabaugh fired an 89, Chaz Patterson and Dominic McCain had matching 44-46 rounds for 90s. Monte Slabaugh shot 91 and Kayden Reinier 108. Mid-Prairie advances to districts Friday at Heritage Oaks in Wapello.
