The Washington Community School board spoke at their recent meeting about the next phase of improvements for buildings in the district.
These improvements will focus on Lincoln Elementary. They include changes similar to what Stewart Elementary has undergone recently. School Board President Eric Turner explained the changes to KCII News. “We’ll start out replacing windows on the west side of the building. Doing this over the summer will minimize disruption to the students. There will also be a fence around the perimeter of the playground. It will provide some extra security to protect the playground and streamline the drop off path for students to make their way from the road over to the school.”
Work will begin this summer. The last day of school for Washington is Friday, June 7th.
