The first round of regionals start today for girls’ golf and many area teams will make the trek to Fort Madison.

Highland, IMS, Keota, Columbus Community, and Lone Tree will all compete in the class 1A postseason meet. The Wildcats look to keep the good times rolling, as they won the Southeast Iowa Super Conference meet last week and have the best 18-hole average out of all the teams today with 408. Aubrey Duncan leads them with 98.5 average. Highland has the third best average with 474 and they are led by Charlie Aicher’s 110.

The day gets underway at 10 a.m. this morning at Shaeffer Memorial Golf Course in Fort Madison.
