KCII area track teams will have plenty of individuals compete at the 2019 State Track and Field meet this week in Des Moines.
Highland’s Trey Lasek will represent the boys in the 400m dash; Emily Yahnke in the 100m dash and long jump; Aly Stokes in the long jump; Madison Thomann in the 1500m; the 4x100m relay of Stokes, Yahnke, Sarah Schneider, and Kristy Thomann; and the 4x200m relay of the same individuals.
Lone Tree will have Cale Yoder compete in the shot put; the boys distance medley relay of Alex Viner, Konner Coppinger, Avery Knock, and Keegan Edwards; Holley Johnson in the 400m hurdles; and the girls distance medley relay of Johnson, Kasey Chown, Macie Bopp, and Natalie Patterson.
Winfield-Mt. Union saw Anna Hudson qualify in the shot put; Brandon Snowden in the 100m and 200m; Juanito Piper in the 200m; Talon Newton in the high jump; the boys 4x100m of Piper, Snowden, Christian Gerot, and Brody Barton; and the 4x200m of Barton, Snowden, Piper, and Dane Sweezer.
WACO’s Colton Horak will run in the 400m hurdles and he is also a part of the shuttle hurdle relay along with Drew Kissell, Nik Coble, and Elijah McGohan.
Keota’s Justin Moeller will be busy, as he qualified for the long jump, 800m, and being a part of the distance medley relay. J.D. Stout, Sam Sieren, and Wyatt Sieren will join Moeller in the relay.
Sigourney boys competing include Spencer Magill in the high jump; and Payton Schauf in the discus and shot put. For the girls Summer Barthelman will be in the long jump, 400m dash, 400m hurdles, and the anchor of the schuttle hurdle relay along with Heidi Clarahan, Rylee Goldman, and Sloane Magill. Megan Stuhr in the discus and Magill in the 100m hurdles round out the Savage competitors.
