The Mid-Prairie girls golf team is back on the course Monday when they host the first round of the regional tournament at the Kalona Golf Course.
The Golden Hawks are coming off of a third place showing at the River Valley Conference championships Friday at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course where they shot a team score of 415. Abby Patterson and Abbi Statler were named Elite All-Conference with their scores of 99 and 100 in the tournament respectively. On the season, Mid-Prairie has a 392 team average per 18 holes, best in their regional. Second behind them is Chariton at 435. The Golden Hawks are led by Abby Statler and Abbi Patterson with 95 and 97 averages per 18 hole rounds, number one and number two in the regional. Next individual is Mackenzie Bussan of Prairie City Monroe at 98. Joining Mid-Prairie tonight at the regional tournament will be Albia, Chariton, Davis County, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Prairie City Monroe, Pleasantville and Van Buren. Action starts at 10:30 and continues all day at the Kalona Golf Course.
