For the fifth straight year the Southeast Conference girls’ golf crown stays in Washington, as the Demons ran through the competition at the conference meet in Keokuk on Monday.
The Demons shot an impressive 362 in the 18-hole meet to best Mount Pleasant’s 374 and Keokuk’s 480. Kiki Guo stood alone a top of the league with her meet-medalist score of 78. Josie Tanner and Emily Waite also received first-team all conference shooting 82 and 92, respectively. Macy Driscoll rounded out the four scores with 110 strokes. Head Coach Len Kull was impressed with how the girls bounced back from a tough performance on Friday. “We played in a triangular on Friday and we didn’t play very well. We gathered ourselves today and away we went. We needed everyone of our girls today to play well and the girls were pleased with their efforts.”
It’s now go-time for the Demons, as they travel to DeWitt on Monday for the regional meet in a chance to go to state.
