It took extra time Tuesday but the Mid-Prairie boys soccer team closed the regular season by extending their winning streak with a 2-1 victory over Mediapolis.

The Hawks struck first when Beau Stutzman found the back of the net to give Mid-Prairie a 1-0 lead. Mediapolis found the equalizer midway through the second half and the score stayed tied at the end of regulation. In extra time Zeus Fugate netted the game winning golden goal. Dominic Pickard recorded the win in goal with seven saves. The Golden Hawks are now 9-3 and they get ready to open the playoffs next week.
