Day One of the 2019 State Track and Field meet is here and eight KCII area schools will be represented at the Blue Oval on what is expected to be a hot day of competition.

Mitchell Driscoll will be the lone Demon to run today, as he will compete in the 400m dash. Marie Hostetler will try to beat the heat in the 3000m run and both Golden Hawk 4x800m relay teams will hit the track as well. Suzanna Yoder will be busy for IMS competing in the 100m, 200m, and 400m dash. Highland has two standouts in the long jump including Emily Yahnke and Aly Stokes. Yahnke will also show off her speed in the 100m and Trey Lasek will do the same in the 400m. Brandon Snowden headlines Winfield-Mt. Union in the 100m and 200m prelims while Anna Hudson throws the shot. Juanito Piper will join his teammate in the 200m. Sigourney fans will have a lot to cheer about today, especially for Summer Barthelman. The senior is in the 400m, long jump, and a part of the shuttle hurdle relay team. Payton Schauf heaves the shot put for the Savage boys. WACO has one event today that includes the boys’ shuttle hurdle relay and Keota’s Justin Moeller will compete in the long jump.
