Work continues on the Washington Emergency Communications project that includes updating the 911 communications system, as well as constructing a new building to house the equipment. Matt Miller with Carl A. Nelson and Company provided an update on the project at this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, “We are on schedule to present our final budgeting to the steering committee next Tuesday. So, we have final draft drawings and specifications, and the budgeting is in progress.” The new building will be constructed near the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. It will be up to date for technology and built stoutly to withstand extreme weather. The communications equipment is being replaced by RACOM.
