Eight more lots are being added to the first phase of the Northern Heights housing development in Riverside. MMS Consultants presented to the city council that when they were evaluating the design for the water detention basin and storm drainage system, by the end of construction of the first 14 lots, most of the grading for eight other lots would be mostly done. They recommended to the council to include the completion of those lots in phase one to bring the total amount of completed lots to 22. The additional cost to add the lots is just over $190,000. The goal for MMS is to have lots on the market mid-summer and be ready for home building to begin in September. The council approved the change 4-1 with Councilman Tom Sexton in opposition.
