Postseason soccer is back in southeast Iowa. Class 1A opens up their bracket tonight including No. 15 Iowa Mennonite School and Mid-Prairie.

IMS travels to Pella Christian for a neutral site game against Grand View Christian. IMS comes in with a 9-4 overall record, they were 3-1 winners last time out on Senior Night in Kalona over the Washington Demons. On the season, IMS is led by Louis Etienne with 22 goals on the season, seventh most in class 1A. Jacob Boller leads the team with six assists. In goal, Blake Bontrager has made 64 saves with an 82% save percentage.

Grand View Christian enters play with an overall record of 2-11, and have lost eight matches in a row including a 12-2 loss to Hampton-Dumont last time out. The Thunder are led on the season by Isaiah Birdwell with five goals. Severin Young has the team lead with five assists. In goal the Thunder are led by Cael Tarbell has made 92 saves with a 68% save percentage. The winner of this match advances to take on the winner of No. 13 Chariton and Clarke of Osceola Wednesday in Solon.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks open up their playoff run with a neutral site game at Benton Community against South Tama. The Golden Hawks enter play with an overall record of 9-3, winners of four in a row, including a 2-1 golden goal win over Mediapolis last time out. On the season the Hawks are led by Aaron Slaubaugh with nine goals, fourth most in the River Valley Conference. Slaubaugh, Camden Marner, Ethan Trimpe and Byron Yoder all share the team lead with three assists. In goal, Dominic Pickard has 33 saves and a 75% save percentage.

South Tama comes into the game with an overall record of 12-5, including a 3-0 win over No. 3 Solon last time out. On the year the Trojans are led by Jonathan Castrejon with 36 goals, most in the WAMAC West and second in the state. Osmar Galvez leads the Trojans with 10 assists and in goal Guillermo Garcia has 82 saves and a 79% save percentage. The winner of this match advances to the second round Wednesday at Vinton-Shellsburg to play the winner of the Vikings and Highland. Action begins at 5p.m. at Benton High School.
