The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team takes a long trip Monday to Pleasantville to try to advance to state in the class 2A regional finals.

The Golden Hawks were first round regional champs on their home course in Kalona last week, shooting a 410, getting by second place Prairie City Monroe with a 411. On the season, Mid-Prairie has a 402 team average per 18 holes, third behind Van Meter at 388 and Colfax-Mingo at 400 team averages. Individually, the Hawks are led by Abby Statler at 97 and Abbi Patterson at 98, those averages are sixth and seventh in the group Monday which is led by Kylie Carey of Van Meter with a 79 average. Action continues all day in Pleasantville.
