One KCII area golfer punched her ticket to the class 1A state girls golf meet on Monday, as Columbus Community’s Aubrey Duncan was meet-medalist at a regional final round in Lynnville.
The Wildcat senior shot an 86 in the 18-hole meet to finish in a tie for first. Hudson’s Abby Guadian also shot an 86 but Duncan got the nod on a cardback for top honors. Columbus finished seventh as a team with 449 while Grundy Center won with 394. Other Wildcat scoring included Kayla Beenen 107 to place 18th, Jobie Lekwa 115, and Gracie Morrison 141. Area golfers that competed as individuals included Sigourney’s Madison Schwenke finishing 11th with 99, Winfield-Mt. Union’s Sabrina Moody was 15th with 101, and Highland’s Charlie Aicher was 20th with 108.
Duncan advances to the state meet May 28th and 29th in Marshalltown.
