Two inmates got into a fight in the Washington County Jail Saturday night. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 9:17 p.m. an assault in the jail was reported between two inmates. They were 42-year-old Carl Tucker Gemberling of Burlington and 27-year-old Deng Michael Akuar of Des Moines. They have pending charges of disorderly conduct.

Akuar faces multiple charges following an incident on April 29th in Polk County when he was charged with two counts of harassment in the first degree, driving while barred, operating while under the influence, harassment of a public official or employee and interference with official acts.Arraignment is scheduled for June 5th.

Gemberling was charged with burglary in the third degree following a January 18th incident in Des Moines County. A pretrial conference is scheduled for June 24th.
