A single-vehicle wreck near Mt. Pleasant led to a drug arrest. According to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, at 9:30 a.m. Sunday 31-year-old Derek Dawson of Oxford lost control of his truck while on Highway 218 just north of 220th Street. Law enforcement arrested Dawson for driving while barred, driving while suspended, possession of a controlled substance third or subsequent offense, drug paraphernalia, and failure to maintain control. Dawson was taken to the Henry County Jail where he has since posted bond. There was an estimated $5,000 in damages to the vehicle. There were no injuries.
