stop-the-bans

In response to recent abortion legislation in states like Alabama and Missouri, protests are being held across the nation today. With the rallying cry of #StopTheBans, people are protesting the criminalization of ending a pregnancy. The laws being passed do not allow abortions even if the mother is a victim of rape or incest, or if the pregnancy threatens the life of the mother. The movement argues that legislators should be kept out of doctor’s offices, and that women should have control over their bodies. Fairfield at noon today will have a Stop Abortion Bans Day of Action at 2405 Walton Lake Circle, hosted by Noyes Law Office. Other cities with such events include Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Indianola, and Des Moines today, along with Iowa City on Thursday.
