Two area students have been selected to receive KCII’s Business and Broadcasting Scholarships. This year’s recipients are Julia Fritz of Fairfield High School and Haley Gambell of Pekin Community High School. Each scholarship is $500. KCII General Manager Joe Nichols says the scholarship was created to help area students as they pursue business or broadcasting degrees after high school, “We look at that as a good opportunity to build some of our area youth and help get them going down the right path.” Fritz plans to study communications, marketing, and public relations at the University of Northern Iowa. Gambell plans to study marketing in college.
