A grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation will help ease the costs for a wildlife camp at Lake Darling. The inaugural camp last summer was deemed a success by the Friends of Lake Darling, hosting 35 children during the five-day camp. The WCRF awarded the Friends of Lake Darling a $3,500 grant to help alleviate the registration costs to help grow the camp. The $150 registration fee has been cut down to $50 courtesy of the grant. The University of Iowa and the Iowa DNR have been orchestrating the camp to educate third- to seventh-graders about the wildlife that calls Lake Darling home. The camp runs from June 24th through June 28th. For information visit here.
