Student-athletes from the KCII listening area will be teeing off at the Iowa State Girls Golf Tournament this week. The Washington Demon girls golf team will head to Ankeny to try to bring home their fifth Class 3A state championship in six seasons. The Demons qualified by winning their regional tournament last week. Columbus senior Aubrey Duncan took first place in a regional final with a round of 86 to advance to the individual Class 1A state championships in Marshalltown. Mid-Prairie will be represented in the individual Class 2A state tournament by Abbi Patterson, who took fifth place in Pleasantville to qualify. Girls state golf is Tuesday and Wednesday.
