The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls soccer team is ready for the second round of the 1A playoffs Tuesday when they travel to West Point to take on the No. 9 ranked Holy Trinity Catholic Crusaders.

Mid-Prairie enters the match on an eight match winning streak including Thursday’s first round victory over Central Lee 7-1. In the match, Julia Boller and Kaitlin Martin each had a pair of goals, Libby Baker, Esther Hughes and Sydney Yoder all scored once. On the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Julia Boller’s 19 goals. She also paces the Hawks with 10 assists. In goal, Emily Swartzentruber has made 51 saves with a 72% save percentage.

The Crusaders enter the match with an overall record of 11-5. Last time out they beat Keokuk 9-1 on the road. On the year HTC is led by Claire Pothitakis with 30 goals, fourth most in class 1A. Taylor Boeding’s 15 assists are best on the team and fourth in the state. Samantha Pathitakis is in goal this year with 73 saves and an 81% save percentage.

These two teams met a season ago with the Crusaders scoring a 9-2 win.
