The KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the tornado warning for Washington County Wednesday night. At 8:25 p.m. law enforcement confirmed a tornado on the ground about three miles north-northwest of Kalona and south of Frytown. The warning was for northern Washington County. Funnel clouds and tornadoes were also in Iowa County. At 8:39 p.m. a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Hills. The storm had a history of producing tornadoes. At about 8:41 p.m. the tornado warning was cancelled for Washington County, but continued until 9 p.m. for southern Johnson County. Five members of the KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the storm and had the power gone out, KCII stays on air with our emergency backup generators.
