The KCII Severe Weather Action Team brought live coverage of the tornado warning for Washington County Wednesday night. At 8:25 p.m. law enforcement confirmed a tornado on the ground about three miles north-northwest of Kalona and south of Frytown. The warning was for northern Washington County. Funnel clouds and tornadoes were also in Iowa County. At 8:39 p.m. a strong thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Hills. The storm had a history of producing tornadoes. At about 8:41 p.m. the tornado warning was cancelled for Washington County, but continued until 9 p.m. for southern Johnson County.
