The Mid-Prairie softball team makes the trip to conference rival Durant on Thursday in search of their first win on the young season. Last time out, the Hawks were beaten by Mount Vernon 14-4 Friday, falling to 0-3 on the year. So far this season the Golden Hawks are hitting .250, led by Rylee Vercande and her .600 average. Cassidy Rourke has four hits, three home runs and three RBI. The Golden Hawks have a team ERA of 8.11 led by Myah Lugar with a 3.00 ERA in seven innings with an 0-1 record.

Durant is 3-0 on the year with wins over Davenport West and a River Valley Conference road sweep of West Branch 12-2 and 4-2 last time out. On the season, the Wildcats are hitting .329, led by Ruby Kappeler and her .727 average with eight hits, two home runs and eight RBI. In the circle the Wildcats have a 0.70 ERA led by Jenna Lawson with a 1-0 record, zero ERA across eight innings of work and 14 strikeouts. These two teams met a season ago with the Wildcats sweeping a doubleheader by a combined 20-2 score. Action begins tonight at 5:30 at Durant High School.
