The normal amount is 4.6 inches. The record high was 11.49 inches set in 1996. The average temperature this May was 57.6 degrees, and the normal is 60.9 degrees. So far this year, Washington has had higher than normal precipitation, near the 23.1 inch-record set in 1973.
