An airplane had to land in a field in Washington County Saturday. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 10:41 a.m. dispatch was notified of a small single-engine plane going down after what sounded like the engine had died and it had disappeared behind a hill. It was in the 2000 grid of 210th Street, near the Highway 1 and Highway 92 intersection northwest of Washington. Washington County Sheriff’s personnel responded and located the pilot and passenger out of the plane after a safe landing.
There were no injuries. Water had gotten into the fuel causing motor failure. The problem was resolved and the pilot was assisted in removing and flying the plane out of the field. The owner of the field was notified. Names of those involved were not released.
