Iowa City brought out the best in the Washington softball team this weekend, as the Demons won all four of their games Friday and Saturday in a tournament on the campus of The University of Iowa.
The Demons defeated Iowa City West 4-2, North Scott 7-5, Cedar Rapids Prairie 6-0, and Mid-Prairie 5-4. Pitching was a strong suit for Washington, as they gave up just five earned runs all weekend. Alexa Mitchell went the distance in two games while Molly Sparks and Cara Linnenkamp also picked up wins in the circle. Kellie Dallmeyer paced the offense in the four contests going 7-for-15 with five runs knocked in and Haylee Wilson added six hits.
