The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team scored their first River Valley Conference wins of the season Monday, blasting Tipton in a doubleheader in Kalona 9-0 and 12-0 in five innings. The Hawks jumped out early in game one as Kylee Kos belted a three run homer in the first to put Mid-Prairie up 3-0. The Golden Hawks posted four in the third and a pair in the second which was more than enough for Cassidy Rourke in the circle who threw a one hit complete game shut out.

In game two Mid-Prairie again scored in the first, this time a single run but the big inning was a five run second to put them ahead 6-0. The offense added on again in the fifth with six runs including a walk off three run homer from Cassidy Rourke, her team leading fourth long ball of the year. In the circle Abbi Patterson was terrific throwing five innings of five hit, shut out ball. With the sweep, the Golden Hawks are 3-7 on the year.
