Not unlike a baby shower, PAWS and More in Washington is hosting a kitten shower this weekend. The community is invited to attend, check out the baby shower decor, snuggle the kittens, have some refreshments and adopt a kitten. PAWS and More Director Amber Talbot is looking forward to the event, “First event that we’ve ever done this and the concept is very much like a baby shower. But we wanted to apply that to all of our new little kittens that are coming available for adoption.” The kitten shower is Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. If you’re unable to adopt, another way to help is to bring a gift. There’s a gift registry online, items needed include baby bottles, kitten formula, or baby blankets, which are easy to launder and fit the smaller kitten cages well. Talbot says there are over 30 kittens needing adopted. and there will be reduced adoption fees of $50 off. The biggest goal is to get kittens into forever homes.
