In 2018, 318 people died in crash-related incidents in Iowa and there were 41 motorcycle fatalities. So far this year 128 people have lost their lives in vehicle wrecks, 12 of which have happened so far this month. Drivers are reminded to look for motorcycles and bicycles this time of year. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motorcycle riders are overrepresented in traffic fatalities and they urge drivers and motorcyclists to share the road and be alert.
