Two tornadoes touched down near Louisa County.
According to the National Weather Service, a pair of EF-2 tornadoes were spotted just south of Louisa County near Oakville. An EF-2 tornado is classified as a tornado with wind speeds of 111-135 miles per hour. The first twister touched down at 8:20 p.m. Saturday and traveled 1.9 miles, destroying a farm outbuilding, throwing farming equipment, and lifting a pickup truck in the air.
At 8:24 p.m., a second tornado formed just east of the first one. This tornado was on the ground for four minutes and traveled 1.3 miles, reaching a maximum width of 300 yards. The second tornado destroyed a pig farm building, took down a wooden high power transmission line, and damaged a house and numerous trees. Estimated peak wind speeds for both tornadoes was 120 miles per hour.
