Baseball fanatics love a low-scoring pitcher’s duel and that’s what fans got in Lone Tree on Tuesday, as the Lions downed Louisa-Muscatine by a 1-0 final.
The game’s only run came in the third when Harmon Miller had a base hit to plate Avery Knock. It wasn’t much, but Bryce Houser didn’t need much, as he tossed a masterful complete game shutout giving up just five hits, no walks, and striking out nine. The Lions scattered five hits led by Knock going 2-for-2 with three stolen bases.
Lone Tree improves to 7-7 and they get back on the diamond this evening traveling to Mediapolis.
