The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team captured a season sweep of Columbus last night defeating the Wildcats 10-5.
The Wolves picked up two runs in the first before Columbus tied it up with two of their own in the second. Four more in the bottom half of the inning by WMU and three in the fourth broke the game open and the Wildcats could never fully recover. Madie Anderson threw a complete game giving up four runs on eight hits and striking out seven. She also had three RBI to go along with one hit. Anna Anderson and Naya Sliva each added a pair of knocks.
WMU improves to 12-6 while Columbus falls to 3-14.
