The Sigourney softball team could not pick up a non-conference win Thursday night falling to Cardinal 3-1.
Cardinal tallied a run in the second and two more in the sixth to build a 3-0 lead. Sigourney threatened in the final inning plating McKenna Winegarden on a RBI hit from Megan Stuhr, but that is all the Savage offense could muster up. They had seven hits led by Stuhr and Kaylee Weber each with a pair of knocks. Jordan VanEe picked up the loss in the circle, despite pitching six innings giving up just two earned runs, six hits, and no walks.
The Savages are now 12-10 and host Iowa Valley on Monday.
