It was a rivalry showdown on the baseball and softball diamond in Keota on Friday and Sigourney walked away with a sweep of the Eagles.

In the baseball game the Savages managed one run in the first and added insurance late to blank the Eagles 6-0. Freshman Bo Schmidt came to work tossing five shutout innings giving up just one hit and no walks. Cade Molyneux was 2-for-3 with one RBI and a run scored. The Eagles struggled for just three hits led by Colten Clarahan going 2-for-3. Sigourney improves to 8-5 while Keota drops to 9-5.

In the softball contest the Savages jumped out of the gates with seven runs in the first and six in the fourth to make for a 13-0 win in four innings. Everyone in the Sigourney lineup reached base safely led by Madelynn Hornback going 2-for-3 with one run knocked in. Hannah Lucas had three RBI and Jordan VanEe pitched a no-hitter in the shortened game while giving up just one walk. The Savages are now 13-10 and the Eagles are 0-14.
