Gerry Kahler announced his resignation from the Mid-Prairie School Board effective Monday evening.
Kahler informed the school board at Monday’s meeting that he will be leaving Kalona to become a pastor in Grundy County. According to Business Manager Jeff Swartzentruber, the board is working to fill the seat. Swartzentruber says they hope to have an appointment lined up within 30 days. The seat will be filled until the November election. Kahler has been serving on the board since filling the seat vacated by Jim Hussey in September of 2018.
