More rain is on the way for the KCII-listening area. As of Monday, Washington had received 4.7 inches of precipitation for the month of June, about an inch above normal. The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center states there is an increased chance of severe thunderstorms throughout the day today (6/25). The risk is slight, meaning scattered severe storms are possible with short-lived isolated intense storms possible. The increased risk is for the southern third of Iowa, and goes into western Illinois and northern Missouri. There’s also a chance of storms Thursday in the Washington County area.
Listen to KCII for weather updates. Any time a severe thunderstorm warning or tornado warning is issued for Washington County by the National Weather Service, KCII stops normal programming and brings you live, up to the minute coverage of the storm. And if the power goes out, KCII stays on the air with our emergency backup generators.
