Students entering kindergarten and ninth grade in Iowa must have a dental screening. Students enrolling in those grades for the fall are required to have a dental screening before school begins. Free screenings are available in Washington. Washington County Public Health is offering two days of free dental screenings this summer. Kindergarteners and freshmen are welcome to be seen between 3 and 6 p.m. on July 9th or August 13th. No appointment is required, just show up to be seen. The screenings are at the public health office at 110 North Iowa Avenue on the fifth floor. Services are available in English and Spanish.
