A kayaker who went missing Saturday has been found deceased. Saturday, after flipping his kayak on the Skunk River, 52-year-old David Alan Woodson of Brighton went missing. The incident happened near 3180 Highway 1 north of Brighton at about 6:50 p.m. A search ensued. The body of Woodson was located at 4:39 p.m. Monday.

Emergency responders who assisted in the search were from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Natural Resources, Brighton Fire Department, Brighton First Responders, Washington Fire Department, Washington County Rescue and Washington County Ambulance. They searched Saturday into the evening, all day Sunday, and resumed the search at 8 a.m. Monday. Search efforts were suspended overnight each evening.
