A special investigation by the State Auditor has revealed a former Henry County employee received nearly $220,000 in improper wages. The special investigation looks at former Henry County Environmental Specialist Jodi Sutter, whose contract was terminated in February 2018. The Henry County Board of Health asked State Auditor Rob Sand to investigate concerns of improper disbursements. The investigation reports that Sutter received a total of $218,633.03 of improper disbursements between July 2010 and January 2018. A breakdown of the disbursements shows $159,142.15 of improper hourly wages, and $29,727.50 of reimbursements for an intern who did not work for the county. The auditor also outlines recommendations to the Henry County Board of Health to improve organization within the department to not let this happen again.
