Emergency responders extinguished two separate garage fires in Washington over the weekend. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 9:51 a.m. Saturday a garage was on fire at 1008 North 4th Avenue. Inside the garage were gas tanks, ammunition, and a vehicle. The garage is attached to a home. Everyone was out of the residence. Washington Fire Department extinguished the flames and there were no injuries. At 12:58 a.m. Sunday, a garage fire at 710 East Van Buren Street was reported to authorities. It was not connected to the house. Washington Fire Department, Washington Police, Washington County Ambulance and Washington Rescue assisted at the scene. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.
