July in Washington is off to a hotter than normal start. According to the National Weather Service, the normal average temperature for the first five days of July is 74.1 degrees. So far this month, the average temperature has been just over 80 degrees.
So far this year the average temperature has been 41.4 degrees, about four degrees below normal. While temperatures are below normal, precipitation for the year is higher. The normal precipitation to this point in the year is 18.2 inches and this year it has been recorded at 24.43 inches. Mostly cloudy skies are expected this weekend with high temperatures in the lower-80s. There is a chance for a thunderstorm. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
