The Winfield-Mt. Union softball team is riding high into the playoffs after closing the regular season on Wednesday with a 13-3 blowout of New London.
The Wolves jumped out for four runs in the first, two in the third, six in the fifth, and added one late to secure the SEISC win. Nine different players contributed to 17 hits led by Molly Miller going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Emma Haines added three knocks and a pair of runs. Madie Anderson went the distance in the circle giving up three runs on three hits and striking out nine.
WMU closes the regular season 16-8 and they host Tri-County in the first round of a class 1A regional on Monday.
