The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks hosted the Washington Demons in a softball rivalry matchup Friday. The Demons came away with a 7-4 win. Washington jumped out to a 3-0 lead with a pair of runs in the first and a single tally in the third. Mid-Prairie scored once in the second, twice in the fourth and once in the fifth to tie the game at four after the Demons had added one in the fourth. With things tight late, the Demons came through in their last at bat, scoring three runs in the seventh, including a two run squeeze play. Cara Linnenkamp got the win for Washington, going three innings, giving up two hits, one run, walking three and striking out two. Kellie Dallmeyer was four for four at the plate for the Demons with two runs scored and an RBI. Rylee Vercande and Jaselyn Robertson were two for four for Mid-Prairie at the plate. Cassidy Rourke took the loss in the circle for the Golden Hawks. Washington is now 22-13 on the year while Mid-Prairie falls to 9-20.
