Ground will be broken this week on the new Washington County Emergency Communications Center. The building will also house the county’s Emergency Operations Center. The storm-hardened structure will be constructed next to the sheriff’s office on Lexington Boulevard. The ground breaking ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. On Tuesday, the Washington County Board of Supervisors will consider bids for the building and discuss financing the project in their regular weekly meeting.
