To celebrate 50 years, the Kalona Historical Society is hosting a week’s worth of events and themed days.
The Kalona Historical Society opened their doors 50 years ago and have been shining a light on Kalona’s history every since. Director Nancy Roth tells KCII News how impactful quality museums can be to the community, “We feel that our museum is very important in our community. It draws a lot of visitors to the Kalona area. There are a lot of people that like to learn the history of little towns as they’re traveling. We feel like we have something pretty spectacular here.” Kalona Museum Week runs from July 8th-12th. Festivities include a scavenger hunt, quilting bee, and golf benefit.
