A train collided with a semi-trailer Friday in Columbus Junction.
According to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office, the wreck happened at 6:23 a.m. Friday at the railroad crossing at Highway 70, on the east side of town. A train struck the rear tandem of the trailer. Due to the wreck, the railroad crossing at 2nd Street just north of Locust Street was also closed. The crossing at 2nd Street was re-opened at 12:15 p.m. Friday and Highway 70 was cleared for traffic after 7 p.m. There were no injuries.
