The Mid-Prairie baseball team finished off their regular season slate this week with a pair of wins over Wapello and Northeast Goose Lake. The Golden Hawks met the Indians on senior night in Wellman and scored a 7-5 win. Wapello jumped out to a 4-1 lead through the first three and a half innings before Mid-Prairie put together a six run bottom of the fourth to take a lead they wouldn’t give up the rest of the night. Kayden Reinier had two RBI and Cale Robertson went two for three. Reinier got the win on the hill going four innings, giving up six hits, four runs, walking two and striking out four. On the night Mid-Prairie honored seniors Ashton Bush and Cale Robertson.
On Wednesday Mid-Prairie traveled to North Cedar and pounded the Knights by a 13-2 final. The Golden Hawks had three big offensive innings on the night, scoring four times in the first, three in the fourth and six times in the fifth. Aidan Rath was two for three with a homer, three RBI and three runs scored. Vinny Bowlin also homered and Keegan Gingerich and Kayden Reinier each drove in two. Gingerich got the win on the mound going three innings, giving up three hits, two runs, walking two and striking out three. With the wins, Mid-Prairie ends the regular season with a 17-11 overall record.
