Bonds to fund the emergency communications equipment and building project will be considered at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting. The total cost to construct the building to house dispatch and an emergency operations center is $3.6 million. Two weeks ago Michael Hart with Northland Securities presented options for how to structure the bonds. The supervisors unanimously approved the option with an extra $100,000 in interest and no additional increase to taxes. The other option would have impacted taxes at about $6 for every $100,000 of taxable value, County Treasurer Jeff Garrett said it “would be about a … $175,000-house you’d have an extra $6 in taxes.” In total the county’s general obligation bonds combined for the radio equipment and building projects is $11.3 million.

Also on Tuesday’s agenda is a fireworks permit, and two personnel change requests. The meeting begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Washington County Courthouse.
