In four days, Washington has had the thermometer dive down from 96 degrees to 55 degrees. The 41-degree shift happened with a high of 96 degrees Saturday followed by an overnight low of 55 degrees early Tuesday morning. According to the National Weather Service, this July has been hotter than normal with an average temperature of 78.5 degrees so far. In the first three weeks of July the average temperature is normally about 74.4 degrees. Precipitation this month is about 2.5 inches below normal so far. The forecast for the rest of the week calls for high temperatures in the mid-80’s with mostly sunny skies and overnight lows in the 60’s. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
