In his first year in a Mount Pleasant baseball uniform, WACO’s Nik Coble quickly emerged as one of the Panthers’ top players and helped them to a Southeast Conference title this summer.

With no high school baseball program this year at WACO, the Warriors had an agreement with Mount Pleasant that sent all baseball players to compete for them. Safe to say, Coble took full advantage. The junior was second on the team in batting average with .327 and knocked in 24 runs. He displayed a keen eye at the plate with a team-high 22 walks and racked up a .440 on base percentage. Coble served as the everyday first baseman and also did some damage on the bump with a 2.46 ERA in 31 1/3 innings of work. Mount Pleasant finished the year with a 21-11 record and a district title game appearance.

Other Warriors that played for the Panthers this summer included Will Edeker, Tim Willits, and Jon Rice.
