\The Columbus City Pool is $2,000 closer to replacing the pool heater courtesy of a Washington County Riverboat Foundation mini-grant.

The Columbus Community School District is in charge of operating the pool. They received a share of $98,612 awarded by the WCRF to improve their pool. Scott Dennler of the Columbus CSD tells KCII News that the pool’s heater is starting to fall victim to wear and tear after seven years. Dennler adds that having a quality heater is important to keep the pool at a comfortable temperature in the early summer months. The goal is to have a new heater up and running for next season.
